I'm Juliet

My journey as an artist began with a childhood in the Caribbean—with stops in Italy, and Florida to study art and design, eventually settling down in Centreville, Delaware.

This was a surprising choice for me, however, Delaware has been both home and a source of inspiration for me since 2008.

My portfolio of work includes a variety of themes including those from my time spent in Jamaica, New Mexico, Italy, Mexico and the Delaware Valley.

My genres include watercolors and oils of nature, spiritual and religious themes which include a published book of historic Jamaican Churches.

My work ranges from watercolors to oils, from realism to a special version of the abstract that I call my “Ethereals”.

Inspiration

Nature remains the wellspring of gifts from which I draw inspiration. Her kaleidoscope of light and colors continue to enhance the endless subjects that abound: from beautiful flowers and playful plants, to breathtaking landscapes and heart-stopping vistas, and more. I have found such exquisite wonders not only in Jamaica, but also along my travels and where I now live on the East Coast of the United States.

Techniques

I paint with both watercolor and oil and with my watercolor Ethereals I sometimes add crushed glass.

Career Highlights

I love painting as it brings me so much joy and helps to keep me grounded and blissful. It enriches my soul in many different ways as it allows me to see the world with new eyes - the eyes of the heart.
